Hookups and Skin Suits Are Not My Bag

Do you know how many people I see on Tinder saying they “aren’t looking for hookups”? Way too many for that statement to be true. I was tired of reading that and then getting messages to the contrary, so I deleted my Tinder account.

Because I wouldn’t invite a Tinder match over to “cuddle”, I was accused of not being progressive enough. We hadn’t even met yet! Hasn’t anyone ever heard of STRANGER DANGER?!?!?!?! I don’t want to tell you where I live until I know you a little better, and I don’t want to spoon until we’ve been on a date.

I don’t think that makes me less of a person. I don’t feel like I should be prude-shamed, just like I wouldn’t slut-shame you for making a different decision in the same situation.

Okay… I might worry about your personal safety. I’ve seen one too many horror movies, read one too many news stories, and stranger danger was drilled in to my head early and hard. I thought being on multiple sites would open me up to more dating possibilities, but I don’t want to risk being a skin suit.

Wow, I just got way off topic.

Anyway, I don’t think Tinder has to offer what I’m looking for as I don’t get excited by messages like “Hey! I wanna humppp…lol”. It was an interesting social experiment*, but now I’m tired.

*Don’t worry, I took some notes!
